PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING AUGUST 15, 2026

Really not much to say at the moment.
I'm still on Chapter 24 and within the 42,000+ word neighborhood on the HUGH MONN, PRIVATE DETECTIVE prequel novel: PRIVATE BATTLES.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and errands day later in the week as well as the never ending battle against housework and other chores.

However I do have a couple of photos to share with everybody that I took with my cellphone while dog walking.

Monarch Caterpillar

This first one was taken on a walk with Belle the Dog Friday afternoon.
On the left is an actual Monarch Caterpillar that will hopefully someday become a Monarch Butterfly.

On the right is the lady Belle, expressing her opinion on the winter weather we experienced this past January 2026.

On the left is a baby(?) field bunny Belle and I saw Saturday.
The weather has been wonderful the last couple of days in my neck of the woods, so you have to take the time to enjoy the moment, and let the dog do what the dog needs to do 😉, whenever you can.

Of course, if Belle had her way, we'd be out there all day long when the weather is good and I'd never get any writing done.

Speaking of which, I better get back to it now so take care.
STAY SAFE!
Have a great week and I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING AUGUST 15, 2020

I've been wearing my Editor's Hat most of this past week, laying the ground work for the previously

mentioned memorial project that will be published at about this point sometime next year.

Not sure how much more about it I can say right now, but it will definitely be discussed a lot more in 2021, especially as it gets closer to an actual release date.

Going back to regular writing this week as I resume work on SOLITAIRE.

Chapter 24 and 53,000+ words. Still in Australia. Not sure I'll have the first draft finished by Labor Day, but definitely by the end of September, barring anything unforeseen. Like another power outage.

Still need to finish revising the second (final?) draft to SHERLOCK HOLMES and "The Adventure of the Unimaginable" too, but that will probably be while my friendly neighborhood beta-proofreader is going over SOLITAIRE.

In any event, take care. STAY SAFE!😷 Still trying to figure out these new Blogger controls between here and The Free Choice E-zine, but I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING AUGUST 15, 2015

Alpha
Well, it may not seem like it once you read this, but there IS progress!

My friendly neighborhood beta/proofreader has yet to review the fourth revision of Chapter 16 to ALPHA, BOOK 2: WAYWARD SON; while I'm hard at work on Chapter 17.
Remember, at the end of last week's Progress Report, I had just sent her the first revision for review.

Current projections show the novel being completed with Chapter 18, but we'll see how it turns out.

And of course, everybody knows my thoughts on
and how I want BOOK 2 to be as perfect as humanly possible, considering that WAYWARD SON sets the foundation for the future of the ALPHA series.

So I better get back to writing now.
See you around the Internet.
