PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MARCH 27, 2021

Well, it happens to every writer occasionally.
Afraid I hit a snag trying to figure out the plot for the SCIENCE FICTION PROJECT I'm working on right now.
I know what I want to do, but trying to figure out the best way to accomplish this is the issue of the moment.
Otherwise, I'm roughly 19 Chapters (20 counting the Prologue) and around 36,000+ words into the novel.
Considering the average book is about 65,000 words, you can see why it's important to stop and figure this out now before I continue.

Midnight Eastern Time tonight (March 28) is the deadline for readers to vote in the 2021 Pulp Factory Awards if you haven't already done so.

The categories are:
BEST PULP NOVEL
BEST PULP SHORT STORY
BEST PULP ANTHOLOGY
BEST  PULP INTERIOR ILLUSTRATIONS and
BEST PULP COVER

One vote per person can be made at

Not sure when the winners will be virtually announced, but may the best nominee in each category win.

In any event, I better get back to writing now.
Take care.
STAY SAFE!😷
And I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MARCH 20, 2021

JUST SOME QUICK BITS OF BUSINESS BEFORE I GO BACK TO WRITING...

FIRST OFF, readers have until Midnight next Sunday, March 28, to vote for their favorite Pulp Creations of 2020 during the annual Pulp Factory Awards in the following categories:

BEST PULP NOVEL
BEST PULP SHORT STORY
BEST PULP ANTHOLOGY
BEST  PULP INTERIOR ILLUSTRATIONS and
BEST PULP COVER

One vote per person can be made at

SECONDLY, Airship 27 would still love to have more interior and cover artists onboard to help with their publications.
If interested, contact Air Captain Ron Fortier either through the company website or Facebook.

NOW THEN, as for my own writing...
I'm 36,000+ words into the SCIENCE FICTION NOVEL I've been working on and it's time to start figuring out how to bring at least a couple of the plot points I've got to a satisfactory conclusion.
In hindsight there is no way I'm going to be able to connect all the dots and conclude every plot point in one book, but then again that's what series are for, right? 😉
Therefore I'm taking a short break to reread/review what I've got so far before figuring out the proper path to continue on.

And for those interested, having gone back over both the New York and Tokyo sections of the manuscript, which is roughly two-thirds of that novel, SOLITAIRE is back in the hands of My Friendly Neighborhood Beta-Proofreader to finish reviewing when she has the time to do so around her own projects.
All this may seem like a heck of a lot of work—and it is!—but in the long run it's time well spent to make a good novel even better!😀

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT NEWS OF ALL FROM THIS PAST WEEK...
I got my first (of 2, since they gave me the Moderna version) COVID-19 Vaccination WITHOUT ANY side effects, "microchips", or other BS! 😎
Granted demand might still outweigh supply for awhile, but this life saving measure is well worth all the time and effort one might have to put into it to accomplish such an important objective!

In any event, I better get back to writing now.
Take care.
STAY SAFE!😷
And I'll see you around the Internet.

Otherwise, may the best creators and their creations win.

And for those of you expecting to read my weekly PROGRESS REPORT in this space, I'm still hard at work on the SCIENCE FICTION PROJECT I keep talking about, but the above was more important to share with you, especially with such a short deadline on the horizon.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MARCH 6, 2021

IT'S BEEN A PRETTY INTERESTING WEEK.

My 59th birthday came and went Friday.
Chocolate Meringue, my favorite
Depending upon how close we are, those that knew either wished me well or helped me celebrate the best we could in these troubled times.😷

The corporation that is managing the Doctor Seuss literary legacy has decided to stop publishing six of his books because they are out of date politically incorrect for today's society.
I can understand the concerns, but to no longer publish seems a little drastic to me.
Why not just edit out the offensive parts or simply add a disclaimer at the beginning?
After all, it's not like the good Doctor intentionally went out of his way to offend anyone even when the "standards and practices" were vastly different back then.

And as for why you are here to begin with, I have completed 18 chapters (counting the prologue) and am at a little over 31,000+ words on the SCIENCE FICTON NOVEL as well as managed to do more proofreading on the SOLITAIRE manuscript this past week.
But I obviously took March 5 off for the reason listed above.🥳🎂
Now for a brief moment to look ahead...

Tomorrow (March 8) is International Women's Day.
Out of all the various social groups in existence, women are at least one of, if not THE worst treated in all of history.
They've been belittled, their importance downplayed and regulated to little more than wife and homemaker in centuries past. Even when they could officially enter the job market, they have been payed less for doing the same job as a male counterpart, who usually took credit for the lady's accomplishments and got the promotions long before she might have even been considered a possibility.
While there have been noticeable improvements since the 1970s, there is still a LONG way to go, especially to recover the ground lost during the 45th "President's" administration.
In any event, I wish ALL women well.

Take care, and I'll see you around the Internet.
