PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MAY 30, 2020

Hate to sound like the proverbial broken record, but I'm still working on SOLITAIRE.
The statistics have increased since last week though. On Chapter 17 now. 38,000+ words but still in Tokyo, Japan.

It's tough trying to write about a place you've never been to. Granted, that happens a lot in science fiction. After all, when was the last time you were on another planet?😉
Most of my traveling over the years has been done via the entertainment industry. Books, magazines, TV, movies, etc.
There are a lot of places I would love to see for myself first hand someday.
Wasn't sure when that would of ever happened, even before the pandemic struck.
Yet one can still do research, as well as dream and imagine.

With that in mind, I better get back to writing now.
Take care, and I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MAY 23, 2020

Still on SOLITAIRE.
Remember the fallen. Past, present, and future.
37,000+ words as of the middle of Chapter 16 and trouble in Tokyo.
The novel started in New York City for the first 12 Chapters, and there are at least two more stops planned after the Japanese leg of this International adventure concludes before the mission is over.
But who is this Clandestine Crusader jet setting around the world?
That will have to wait until the novel is published to be discovered.

Tomorrow is Memorial Day here in the United States.
Times have been tough of late, especially because of the pandemic, but I hope no one forgets that Memorial Day is for remembering the fallen. Not only those who have fought for and defended the freedoms and civil liberties you enjoy, but also those we have unfortunately lost to this {censored} COVID-19/Coronavirus Crisis.

In any event, take care.
Please rejoice that you're still alive and STAY SAFE!

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MAY 16, 2020

A PRETTY SHORT REPORT THIS TIME FOLKS!

Still working on the SOLITAIRE novel.
Over 35,000+ words. In the middle of Chapter 15 at the moment and the title character is still in Tokyo, Japan.
I figure the Orient for at least another chapter or two at the most, and then on to the next stop of this global adventure.

I know this COVID-19/Coronavirus Crisis is weighing heavily upon everyone everywhere, and a lot of folks would like to see the Pandemic Pause end and life resume, but it needs to be done safely and soundly!
A lot of places have tried reopening as I type this, with the only result being to create more cases.

Regardless of your status and position on a "lockdown": if you're still safe, sound, and healthy, isn't that a good thing?

In any event, I'm going back to writing now.
Take care, and I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MAY 9, 2020

Finished going back over the SOLITAIRE manuscript and, between tweaking and tightening the text here and there, wound up adding an additional 150+ words, bringing the count up to almost 34,000 as I picked up where I left off.
Solitaire (the character) is still in Japan as I post this, fighting the good fight and still has a couple of more stops to go after leaving the Orient before Book 1's adventure is over.
♫Where it all ends I can't fathom my friends♫
Then again, I already know but I can't tell you, especially since I need to get back to writing now.😉

Take care, and I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MAY 2, 2020

SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE ADVENTURE OF THE UNIMAGINABLE is in the hands of my friendly neighborhood beta-proofreader Nancy Hansen for review.
Once she's done and I go over her amending/editing, that second/final(?) draft will be sent to Ron Fortier at Airship 27 for publication consideration.

Have started going back over the SOLITAIRE novel from page 1 to refresh my memory before picking up where I left off on that manuscript/project.
Currently in Chapter 4 when I paused to do this blog post and between a little judicious editorial tweaking here and there, have added about 50 additional words so far.
Definitely have made the overall book even more tighter and better than it was before.
As previously stated in past posts, one cannot just jot down the first words that come to mind and call it a finished story.
There is A LOT of time and effort that goes into any manuscript, regardless of whether we're discussing a short story or a full length novel.

With that in mind I better get back to writing now.
Take care, STAY SAFE!
And I'll see you around the Internet.
