PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MAY 25, 2019

It's the Memorial Day weekend here in the United States, and I hope everyone takes a moment out of
their day to remember those who are either currently or have served their respective countries so that you can enjoy the freedoms and liberties you enjoy today.

With that said, work is proceeding apace on my Sherlock Holmes story for Airship 27.
There isn't a day that doesn't go by when I have to pause what I'm doing to look up something.
At times it can be frustrating, especially the longer it takes to acquire the answer to something obscure.
Yet sometimes it is the small details that could trip up a writer and throw a reader completely out of a story if you're not careful.
After all, Sherlock Holmes was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge without the benefit of a computer or tablet.
How would it look if he got something wrong?😕

In any event, I better get back to writing now.
See you around the Internet.

LET'S TALK. I'M LISTENING.

For those of you expecting my weekly progress report in this space, things are going as well as can be expected with my Sherlock Holmes story.
The mail, long ago
I finally even came up with a title for it! 😀
Still a long ways off from completion, but at least I AM writing.

Speaking of which...
I've been thinking lately about the letter columns of old.
Long before the Internet and social media, letters to various magazines were the only line of communication between the creators and the fans.
Metropolis Mailbag, Flash Grams, The Fantastic Four Fan Page, and a whole lot more were a big part of my youth.

So I got to thinking.
Why should these posts between us be just one sided?
If you have a question, comment, suggestion, critique or whatever, just leave it in the comments section here or at my professional page on Facebook.

Now unfortunately I can't guarantee a prompt reply, and you may not like my answer, but at least I will respond to everyone in time, even if it's just a "Like".

So with that in mind, I better get back to writing now.
See you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MAY 11, 2019

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY EVERYBODY!

It has been a REALLY GREAT writing week for me! 😀

Although far from finished, I got a lot done on my next Sherlock Holmes story for Airship 27.
Truthfully, I haven't felt as "in the zone" like this since...
Well, it's been a while.
WHY?
I can hazard a guess...
After all, I'm only human.
I have never been a speedy writer, but over the last year or two I haven't always been the steady writer I used to be.
Yet I'd rather put all the bad feelings behind me and move forward.
With that in mind, it's time to get back to writing! ✍

So take care, and I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING MAY 4, 2019

Well, depending upon what you decided to do, I hope everyone had a great May 4 between Star Wars Day and Free Comic Book Day.
Nothing against those who prefer a galaxy far, far away; but I've always been more of a Star Trek fan, so Live Long, and Prosper!

In any event, this past week writing wise has been far better than the two previous weeks combined!😀

Am far from finished writing the Sherlock Holmes story I'm working on, but considering that while working on this tale I've now had thoughts about TWO more!😏

So to get anything accomplished this week, I better get back to writing now.
Take care, and I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING APRIL 27, 2019

"It's Deja Vu all over again!"

Yogi Berra.

The quote and posting the same image twice are quite appropriate.

After the aforementioned doctor's appointment (I'm as healthy as a 57 year old man with a heart condition can be), various errands, household chores (WHEN are they ever going to invent the self cleaning house?) and other stuff throughout the week, I unfortunately didn't get as much writing time as I hoped to.
It seemed like life threw everything at me but the kitchen sink, and thankfully that was bolted down to well too be used against me. 😉

Sure, I did get some writing time in, but when you're trying to create stories and build an audience, you want a whole lot more than a few minutes here and a few minutes there.

HOPEFULLY things will go better this week, for there is really nothing pending on my agenda except housework and a few errands towards the end of the week.

Now if only the Red Sox can improve their game...⚾

Take care and I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING APRIL 20, 2019

First and foremost:
HOPPY EASTER EVERYBODY!

Now then, while I'm doing okay on my Sherlock Holmes story, this one doesn't seem to be coming to me as quickly as my previous attempt "The Adventure of the Artful Forger".

Why?
Your guess is as good as mine at the moment, but considering everything I've been through over the last couple of weeks with the funeral and everything...

I do have a doctor's appointment this week, and it still isn't with the one who owns the TARDIS! 😕
Other than my usual errands and household chores (What? Things don't magically take care of themselves unless I do the work) I should have plenty of writing time this week.
If Holmes and Watson aren't going to cooperate as well as they did with me previously, been thinking about splitting my time between them and something else instead of just staring at the computer screen and getting more frustrated with myself than I have been.
Then again, maybe just "talking" about it like I have here will do the trick.
Will just have to wait and see how it goes.

Either way, am definitely taking Easter Sunday off to be with family and friends.

But first, I still have to go over to The Free Choice E-zine in my capacity as Editor-In-Chief and help a certain wabbit post the Easter installment of The Sunday Funnies.

So take care everyone, and I'll see you around the Internet.

PROGRESS REPORT: WEEK ENDING APRIL 13, 2019

Truthfully?
I didn't get to accomplish much of a dang thing this past week!
The closer I got to the funeral I had to attend, the less time and concentration I had to work on anything I really wanted to do.
But the funeral is over now and life goes on.
Here's hoping this week will be better than last week for all concerned.
